| It is one thing to recognize that there are doctrinal problems with Catholicism and to leave the Catholic Church because of it. It is another thing to become completely free from the deep rooted, far reaching influence that Catholicism has on many former Catholics.
Mike Gendron is a former Catholic. He wrote a short article entitled "Jesus Christ Is Sufficient to Save Sinners Completely". It deals with issues which are foundational for former Catholics. This article has helped me in the past and it still continues to help me. I know these truths intellectually. However, when I was a Catholic, my habitual thinking and my gut level reactions denied these truths. Sometimes old habits die hard, in spite of the fact that we have learned that they are wrong.
